Senate Bill 0528 (J. Cullerton) Amends the ICPA. Provides that where the Act addresses the minimum voting requirements for taking action by a condominium owner's association in which 30% or less of the condominium units possess 50% or more of the association votes, a unit for the purpose of voting on matters before the Association by virtue of the Act or in the condo instruments, shall not include a garage or a storage unit. Senate Bill 1592 (Forby) House Amendment 5 deletes everything after the enacting clause. This bill is apparently what will be used for any utility rate relief effort. Passed both houses: See link above

House Bill 0759 (H. Osterman) Creates the Condominium Advisory council to identify issues facing condo owners and others who have a financial interest in condos, study the Illinois Condominium Property Act and other related Acts and report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by January 31, 2008. Signed into law: Public Act 95-0129

House Bill 1071 (Nekritz-Saviano) Requires standards for managers of community associations. Signed into law. PA 95-318

House Bill 1797 (H. Osterman) Provides as to a conversion condo that a tenant who vacated a unit in a building within 18 months of the real estate becoming a conversion condo and who did not receive a notice of intent to submit the real estate to the Act must be awarded damages of $10,000 plus reasonable attorneys fee and costs.
