General conference information:

  • Registration opens at 8 a.m.
  • Parking is FREE!
  • There is no charge for attending the Expo which is open from 8 a.m. - noon or any of the Interactive Demonstrations
  • Educational Programs (flat fee to attend any of the four programs)
    • ACTHA Member Registration : $25 per person or $20 per person if sending three or more from the same association
    • Non-member Registration: $45 per person
    • If registering after Wed., Sept. 23 or at the door, add $15 per person to the above rates


Cost for any of the educational seminars (trade show and interactive demonstrations are open at no cost to the general public): $25 per person for ACTHA members or $20 per person if sending three or more from the same association and $45 per person for non-members

 


    Educational Programs:

    The Expo, featuring area businesses is open to the general public from 8 a.m. - noon at no charge. There is a fee if you intend on attending the ACTHA educational programs. There are two tracks of educational programming. Attendees are able to select from one of two choices for the following time periods:



    9:30 - 10:30 a.m. (select from one of the two choices below):

    1. FHA Financing Issues: To Certify or Not, That is the Question - This session will cover the steps involved in certifying your association for FHA approval and its pro's and con's. Various other issues preventing lenders from approving loans in associations, such as delinquency rates, owner/tenant occupancy ratio, and reserve funding will also be addressed. Speakers: Belinda Robinson of U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and Keith Jones of Keay and Costello
    2. Financial Mismanagement: Where Did All Our Money Go?: Both newly turned over associations and established ones can find themselves faced with assessment levels which are too low or insufficient funds set aside in reserves to fund common element maintenance, repair and replacement projects. This session will discuss how to address these issues, including suggested approaches to help weary owners who don't want to see assessments raised. Presenters: Lara Andersen of Tressler LLC

    Noon - 1:00 p.m. (select from one of two choices below):


    1. Applying a Collection Policy: Make Every Penny Count - Laid off owners, foreclosures, short sales and sluggish non-distressed sales continue to plague the associaton's bottom line. Establishing and applying a collection policy is critical to maintaining enough cash flow to keep afloat. Speakers: Dawn Moody of Keough & Moody and Martin Stone of HSR Property Services
    2. Conflict and Compromise: It's a War Out There - Owners against owners, owners against the board, the board against owners, the board against the board and all with an axe to grind. What happened to good neighbors and a friendly community. Learn what options and methods can restore the harmony and give everyone peace. Speaker: Tomi Wahlstrom of Otavala

    South Expo Exhibitors The Expo is open to registrants and the general public from 8 a.m. to noon. The Trade Show is a great way to meet pros in a variety of disciplines and network with them and your peers and we encourage you to bring your proposals!
